Hedi Slimane, the first Dior menswear designer in 2001, was best known for radically changing the silhouette of men's fashion to super-skinny. The look darkened during the luster period which was mainly inspired by the electroscene of Berlin and other Rock & Roll references. He was also the man who prompted Karl Lagerfeld to lose almost 90 pounds in weight in order he could wear Dior hHomme clothes. Since 2007 and the departure of Hedi Slimane, newly appointed creative director Kris Van Assche implements a more formal and minimal style. |

Spring / Summer 2013 Mens Spring show was an extended meditation on navy. For footwear the focus is on a graphically strong combination of blacks with a hint of red. Sneakers are sporty chic and fresh like antarctica, with a new range of suede high- and lowtops.
